Welcome to MANIQUE — a space born from passion, purpose, and a vision to create something truly special.

I'm Maria, the founder of MANIQUE. My journey into beauty began back in 2019, while I was working in early years education. I'd always had a love for beauty, but it was during that time I realised I could combine both of my passions — nurturing people and creating art. What started as a set-up in my spare room quickly grew into a bigger dream: to build a space where people feel seen, supported, and inspired. A place where high standards meet heart.

The name MANIQUE comes from manicure and unique, and it defines the standard we hold ourselves to — not just in the services we offer, but in the way we make people feel. From perfectly executed treatments to the sense of calm and connection we create, everything at MANIQUE is intentional.

We believe in the power of detail — not just in our work, but in the full experience. The salon is designed to feel like a home away from home: warm, relaxed, and welcoming, while still delivering luxury-level results. Our goal is to offer a moment of pause — a space where you can disconnect, recharge, and leave feeling your absolute best.

As MANIQUE continues to grow, education has become a key part of our mission. Our upcoming Academy will focus on raising industry standards through in-depth theory, hands-on training, and meaningful support — preparing future professionals with the tools, knowledge, and confidence they need to succeed. We’re not just teaching skills; we’re building a community rooted in quality, encouragement, and growth.

MANIQUE was built with love — and with a lot of support behind the scenes. My parents physically built the salon from scratch, helping turn a vision into reality, and I’ll always be grateful for that. My boyfriend supported me through every stage, keeping me grounded while cheering me on. I’ve also had the help of Nicole, our amazing interior designer, Alejandro, who guided our brand and marketing in the early days, and The King’s Trust, who believed in my business and supported its foundation. And of course, I’m incredibly proud of the team I’ve built — a group of talented, high-standard women who bring their passion and professionalism to the space every single day.

We’re proud to be SHABA 2025 Finalists, and even prouder of the community that surrounds us. With the upcoming Academy launch, our signature Serenity Sunday events, and a growing team, we’re excited to continue shaping a more supportive, inspiring beauty industry in Glasgow — and beyond.
